Every retainer client's requests, commitments and hours, in one workspace.

Clients send requests through their own portal, a request link or email. You track each commitment back to its clause, log time against the retainer and approve a monthly report before the client sees it.

Full access for 30 days. No card required.

  • $649 a month for the whole practice
  • Unlimited clients, team members and portal users
  • Works with Claude and ChatGPT
  • Reports and AI proposals wait for your approval

Each client gets its own space

Each client's requests, contract and corporate commitments, documents, time, reports and contacts are kept together, with a short profile of who signs and how they like to work. The overview shows what needs you today across all of them.

Requests

Client contacts raise requests in the portal, by sending them to the client's request email address, or through a request link that needs no sign-in and shows nothing back. Each request carries a response target, and the monthly report shows the client how quickly you replied. You set priority, scope and an assignee, and send out-of-scope work to the client to approve with your estimate.

Commitments

Renewal dates, notice periods, payments, reporting duties and governance items, each linked to its source document and quoted clause. Give each one a due date or trigger event, a reminder and the person who tracks it. A contract that renews automatically keeps its notice deadline current after each renewal.

Compliance calendar

Templates for Delaware corporations and LLCs, annual reports in any other state on dates you set, board governance, insurance and policy reviews, UK private companies and new client onboarding. You pick the items for each client and confirm the dates.

Retainers and time

A monthly fee with included hours, a block of hours, or hourly. Unused hours can carry forward up to a cap, alerts go out at the threshold you set and out-of-scope time is kept separate. Time is recorded in 6-minute increments by default, a timer runs from the workspace header, and each closed month can become an invoice draft in Invoice Generator.

Monthly reports

Completed work with outcomes, open matters, decisions the client needs to make, upcoming commitments, retainer usage and response times. You edit against a live preview, approve the report and share it in the portal with a branded PDF.

Client portal

Invited contacts see their open requests, the decisions you need from them, commitments you have shared and published reports. They can reply, approve extra work and upload evidence, and you can choose to show them the retainer hours used.

How a month runs

Requests and commitments come and go all month. At the end of it you check the time and approve each client's report.

  1. A request comes in

A client contact sends it from the portal, the request link or the client's request email address, or your assistant logs it. It lands under that client with a response target, and the overview flags anything past it.

  2. You assess scope and do the work

Mark it in or out of scope. Out-of-scope work goes to the client to approve with your estimate. Time you log counts against the retainer unless it is out of scope or non-billable.

  3. Commitments come due

Reminders arrive in one email at 8am in your time zone. Clients upload evidence for the commitments they own, and you close each one with its evidence. A recurring commitment schedules its next occurrence.

  4. The month closes

Prepare reports for every active client in one step. Each draft pulls in the month's completed work, open matters, decisions needed, upcoming commitments and retainer usage. You edit the narrative, approve it and share it with the client's contacts, then draft the month's invoice in Invoice Generator.

Working with your AI assistant

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to the workspace. It works on the same records you do, and anything that becomes a commitment or reaches a client waits for your approval.

What your assistant can do

  • Read the files clients send, such as a contract to review
  • Read and update each client's profile: who can sign, risk appetite and standard positions
  • Log a request from a client email
  • Propose commitments from a contract, quoting each clause
  • Log time against a request or commitment
  • Draft notes, client replies and the month's report

What stays with you

  • Approving proposed commitments
  • Approving and sharing reports
  • Sending replies to clients
  • Inviting portal contacts
  • Restricting clients and switching AI access

Confidentiality controls

Set who can see a client or a request, and whether an assistant can read it at all.

Restricted clients

Visible only to owners, admins and the people on that client's team.

Confidential requests

Visible to admins, the assignee and the client lead. The request's files, messages and time follow the same rule.

AI access per client

Switch it off and every assistant connection refuses that client's records.

Audit history

Changes to requests, commitments, reports and access are recorded with who made them and when.

What your assistant keeps

Raq.com limits what a connection can read and refuses requests for any client with AI access switched off. It cannot recall what an assistant has already received, so keep one assistant project per client.

Security and data

What a client's IT or security team usually asks before their records go into a new system.

Data stays in the EU

Application and database servers run in Germany and Finland on dedicated hardware with encrypted disks, and uploaded files are kept in private European storage. Every connection uses HTTPS, and Cloudflare filters traffic before it reaches the servers.

Two-factor sign-in

Each person can add an authenticator app. An account owner can require two-factor authentication, or a verified Google Workspace or Microsoft sign-in, for everyone in the practice.

Limits on assistant connections

Owners can make assistant connections read-only or set them to expire, set session limits, and log every action an assistant takes in an audit log that exports to CSV.

What AI sees

The workspace sends nothing to an AI model on its own. Your assistant reads only what its connection allows. Raq.com's own AI features send text through OpenRouter with zero data retention by default, and Raq.com does not use your content to train AI models.

Your records stay yours

Each client's records export as a ZIP handover pack whenever you need them. When you leave, we return your data through export or delete it, as the data processing addendum sets out.

Documents for vendor reviews

The data processing addendum and the list of subprocessors are published, ready for a client's supplier questionnaire.

Cyber Essentials Certified Valid to 21 September 2027

Raq.com holds Cyber Essentials, the UK government-backed security certification. It is built and run by Vu AI Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company number 15766790), Knowle, Solihull. Automated database backups and a second server location support recovery if a server becomes unavailable.

$649 a month for the whole practice

Example bill

A practice with two lawyers, a paralegal, 11 retainer clients and 34 client portal users pays $649 a month, or £510 in the UK. The price stays the same as you add clients and people.

Trial terms

30 days with full access and no card. Subscribe from Settings whenever you are ready. If the trial ends unpaid, you keep full access for 14 more days, then the workspace stays readable for 30 days so you can export every client's records. After that it closes, and nothing is deleted until you ask.

Also included: a CRM, quotes and proposals, e-signature, secure file sending, file requests, forms, invoicing, automations, a document designer (Pretty Docs), a knowledge base, a task board and team chat. Your assistant runs on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan. The plan covers normal use of Raq.com's own AI features, and a billing manager can add more from $14 (£10 in the UK) a month. Prices exclude sales tax and VAT where applicable.

Everything in the plan

Every feature below is included in the practice plan and available from the first day of the trial.

Clients and intake

Practice workspace with a space per client
One workspace per practice, with a separate space for each client holding its requests, commitments, documents, time, reports and contacts. The overview lists what needs counsel across every client.
Branded client portal and request links
Each invited contact gets a private portal link, confirmed by email and, by default, an emailed code, that lapses only after 90 days without use. Each client also has a request link that needs no sign-in, and the practice can show contacts the retainer hours used.
A request email address for each client
Each client can have its own request email address. Mail from a client contact whose domain the mail provider authenticates becomes a verified request, or joins an open request when the subject quotes its reference. Other mail arrives unverified and is never taken up automatically.
Internal client profile
Each client has a profile with its entities, who can sign and up to what limits, risk appetite, standard positions by topic and how it likes to work. The team and the assistant can read and update it; it never reaches the portal or reports.

Requests

Request triage, scope approval and client conversation
Requests carry priority, scope, an assignee and a status. Out-of-scope work can go to the client for approval with an estimate, and the conversation keeps internal notes apart from messages the client sees.
First-response targets by practice, client and priority
A practice target, a shorter target for urgent requests and an optional target per client. Each request keeps the deadline that applied when it arrived, the overview flags requests past it, and monthly reports show how many first responses met it.

Commitments and deadlines

Source-linked commitments register
Contract and corporate commitments link to their source document and quoted clause, with an owner, a due date, recurrence or trigger event, and a reminder window.
Compliance calendar templates
Starting templates for Delaware corporations and LLCs, other state filings, board governance, insurance and policy reviews, UK private companies and new client onboarding.
Contract renewal notice deadlines
A contract that renews automatically, with its term and notice period, keeps one notice deadline owned by the client lead. Completing it as renewed rolls the end date forward and sets the next notice.
Calendar feed and morning digest
A personal calendar feed of commitments and hard request deadlines, and one digest at 8am in the practice time zone for reminders and overdue items.

Time and billing

Retainer usage and time in 6-minute increments
Monthly fee with included hours, a block of hours or hourly, with capped carry-forward, alert thresholds and out-of-scope time kept apart. Time rounds up to the practice increment.
Timer and retainer invoice drafts
One timer per person, kept on the server, that fills in the time form when stopped. For each closed month, the retainer's fee, overage and approved out-of-scope time become an Invoice Generator draft, once per retainer month.

Reports and handover

Reviewed monthly client reports
Each report covers completed work and outcomes, open matters, decisions needed, upcoming commitments, retainer usage and response times, with a live preview, counsel approval, a branded PDF and sharing through the portal.
Client handover pack and CSV exports
A ZIP of every register for a client with the client conversation on each request, the client's history, its report PDFs, files and a readme, plus CSV exports of time entries and commitments.

Confidentiality and your assistant

Restricted clients, confidential requests and per-client AI access
A restricted client is visible to owners, admins and its client team. A confidential request, with its files, messages and time, is visible to admins, its assignee and the client lead. AI access can be switched off per client. Each client can also record when and how it agreed to AI use.
Your own Claude or ChatGPT assistant
Claude or ChatGPT can read the documents clients send, log requests, propose commitments from a contract, log time and draft notes, replies and report narrative. Approvals, publishing, client messages and access changes stay in the web app.
CRM, E-Sign, Invoice Generator and the other bundled tools
CRM, Quotes and Proposals, E-Sign, Secure Send, File Drop, Form Builder, Invoice Generator, Automations, Pretty Docs, Knowledge, Task Board and Team Comms come with the plan.

Before you start

How are clients kept apart?

Each client has its own space, and every request, commitment, document, time entry and report belongs to one client. A portal contact sees only their own client's shared records. You can restrict a client to the people on its client team, and mark a request confidential so that only admins, its assignee and the client lead can open it, along with its files, messages and time.

What can the AI assistant do?

Your assistant connects through MCP, the open standard Claude and ChatGPT use to work with other software. It can read the records the connection allows, including the files clients send, log a request from an email, propose commitments from a contract with the clause quoted, log time, and draft internal notes, client replies and report narrative. It cannot approve commitments, approve or share reports, send anything to a client, invite portal contacts or change restrictions and AI access. Those steps return a link for a person to finish in the web app. Raq.com does not research the law or draft legal documents.

Who approves what?

Commitments proposed by an assistant or by staff wait in a Needs approval queue until someone with the counsel role approves them in the web app. Counsel approves each report, which freezes its figures and stores the PDF, and the client sees it only when counsel shares it. A reply your assistant drafts stays a draft until a person sends it. Owners and admins always have the counsel role, and other team members can be counsel or staff.

What leaves Raq.com when an assistant connects?

Only what the assistant asks for and the connection is allowed to read. Lists return titles and status, and full content needs a separate request for a single record. Requests for a client with AI access switched off are refused. Whatever the assistant receives is then held by its provider under your own account with them.

Can I export or delete a client's records?

Yes. The handover pack is a ZIP of the client's registers, the conversation on each request, the client's history, report PDFs and files with a readme, for when an engagement ends or the client moves to new counsel. Time entries and commitments also export to CSV. You can remove files, contacts and time entries in the workspace. To have a client's records or the whole practice deleted, email privacy@raq.com and we confirm when it is done.

What do clients see in the portal?

Each contact you invite gets a private link that stays active while they use it and can be revoked. A link left unused for 90 days lapses, and the contact can email themselves a new one. The first visit confirms their email address, and by default each new browser session needs an emailed code. They see their open requests, the decisions you need from them, commitments you have shared with them, published reports and, if you switch it on, the retainer hours used. Internal notes, unshared commitments and draft reports stay hidden. Portal users are free and unlimited.

Can I hold client funds or retainer deposits in Raq.com?

No. Raq.com records retainer fees and hours so you can report usage to the client. It does not hold funds on behalf of clients or keep a ledger of them, so money held for clients stays in your own bank accounts and records. Invoice Generator can bill your earned fees.

How does using an AI assistant fit my professional rules?

That judgement is yours, and Raq.com does not give legal or ethics advice. ABA Formal Opinion 512 (July 2024) and the SRA's warning notice on the misuse of AI (17 August 2026) both stress keeping client information confidential, using tools only with suitable safeguards, and checking anything an AI produces. The SRA notice also warns that sharing client information with an AI tool can waive legal professional privilege, and Opinion 512 expects informed client consent in some cases. The workspace gives you practical controls: record on each client when and how they agreed to AI use, switch AI access off for a client and every assistant connection refuses that client's records, lists return titles and status so full content needs a request for one record, and commitments, reports and client replies wait for a person. Use a business or enterprise plan for your assistant, check its retention and training settings, and keep one project or conversation per client.

Is there a minimum term?

No. The plan renews each month, or each year if you pay annually, until you cancel, and cancelling takes effect at the end of the billing period. After that the workspace stays readable for 30 days so you can export every client's records.

Does it work for US and UK practices?

Yes. Settings has US or UK date formats, your currency and your time zone. Compliance templates cover Delaware corporations and LLCs, annual reports in any other state on dates you set, and UK private limited companies. They are starting points: you choose the items for each client and confirm every date against the current rules.

How do I bring my existing clients in?

Add them one at a time, or upload a CSV of up to 1,000 clients with each client's main contact, using the template in the workspace. You check a preview before anything is saved.

Can I talk to someone before I start?

Yes. Email hello@raq.com with your questions or to arrange a walkthrough, and a member of the team will reply.

Get a sample monthly client report

Leave your work email and we will send a sample monthly report for a fictional client, in the format your clients would see. It covers completed work, open matters, decisions needed, upcoming commitments and retainer usage.

We only use this to reply to you. You will not be added to a mailing list.
